A4Q AI Compliance

The A4Q AI Compliance certification (Certified Professional for AI Compliance – EU AI Act) equips professionals with the essential knowledge and practical skills to interpret, implement, and evidence compliance with the EU AI Act across the full AI system lifecycle. It focuses on risk-based classification, governance, documentation, and audit readiness, enabling organizations to deploy AI systems responsibly and confidently.
You will learn how to classify AI systems by risk, operationalize high-risk obligations, conduct FRIAs, implement post-market monitoring, and align AI governance with ISO/IEC 42001, ISO/IEC 23894, and leading global frameworks, while managing the realities of international AI regulations.
It is based on 16 exam-relevant chapters (approximately 16 hours of instruction), from the introduction to AI compliance and the EU AI Act through harmonized standards and global interfaces – with additional bonus content on roadmap planning and future regulatory evolution.

The syllabus emphasizes three key areas:

» Master AI Act compliance basics
» Embed strong AI governance and controls
» Align with global standards and reduce risk

What You Will Learn

The syllabus is structured around practical compliance capabilities and business-relevant outcomes:

Understand AI Compliance & the EU AI Act

  • Define AI in the regulatory context and understand how the EU AI Act scopes and structures obligations.
  • Identify roles, responsibilities, and implementation timelines.
  • Recognize prohibited AI practices and understand enforcement mechanisms and sanctions under the EU AI Act.
  • Understand how AI Act requirements interact with GDPR, product safety law, and sector-specific regulations.

Apply the Risk-Based Approach & Classification

  • Classify AI systems into unacceptable, high, limited, and minimal risk.
  • Apply Annex III and qualitative criteria to identify high-risk systems.
  • Reassess risk as systems change or scale.

Implement High-Risk System Obligations

  • Apply mandatory requirements: risk management, data governance, documentation, logging, transparency, human oversight, cybersecurity, and robustness.
  • Prepare audit-ready technical documentation and evidence aligned with Annex IV.
  • Understand how obligations apply to domains like HR, finance, and public services.

  • Maintain risk registers, controls, and compliance evidence.

Manage Conformity Assessment, CE Marking & Transparency

  • Understand internal vs. external conformity assessments and when notified bodies are required.
  • Support CE marking, declarations of conformity, and EU registration.
  • Apply transparency and labeling duties for limited-risk systems (chatbots, biometric categorization, generative AI).

Govern General-Purpose AI (GPAI) & Systemic Risk

  • Understand GPAI provider and deployer obligations (transparency, documentation, testing, copyright, incident reporting).
  • Use due diligence checklists to assess external foundation models.
  • Build internal policies for the safe and compliant use of generative AI.

Conduct FRIA & Post-Market Monitoring

  • Perform Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments (FRIA) and align them with DPIAs and sectoral risk assessments.
  • Create post-market monitoring procedures and serious-incident reporting processes.
  • Apply monitoring insights to continuous improvement and compliance updates.

Build AI Governance, Ethics & Global Interfaces

  • Establish governance roles, committees, and escalation channels.
  • Apply voluntary governance (ethical AI, CSR, ESG) and international ethics frameworks (OECD, UNESCO).
  • Navigate cross-border regulation, export control, IP/licensing, and global supply-chain risk.

“AI delivers value. But without strong governance, clear accountability, and documented controls, it quickly becomes a regulatory and organizational risk.”
